映画､テレビ､写真撮影のロケハン/コーディネーション､撮影ツアーマネージメントのスペシャリスト。クロスカルチャーイベントのオーガナイザー､PRマネージャーとしても豊富な経験を有す。’90年代初頭､オーストラリアの代表的アウトドア総合ファッションブランド､RM Williams Bushman の日本代理店業務のため札幌に滞在。この間､日本語を学ぶと同時に英語を教え､日豪間の橋渡し役としてのキャリアをスタート。1999年にオーストラリアに戻り､
シドニーで日本人のための英語教室を開設。また､ラジオ局､ボンダイFMで日英のクロスカルチャー･コミュニティー向けにバイリンガルのラジオ番組を担当。2000年から2002年まで､クロスカルチャーイベントとして豪日サーフィンフェスティバル(The Bondi Tsunami Festival)を主催し､これをきっかけとして映画､｢ボンダイ･ツナミ｣のプロデュースを手がける。

A specialist in location scouting, co-ordinating film & photography shoots and hosting tours for Japanese cliental in Australia, Smithy is also a seasoned cross-cultural event organizer and public relations/ publicity manager. Smithy commenced his career in Japanese/ Australian liaison in the early 90’s, when he worked as an agent for RM Williams Bushman’s outfitters, while studying Japanese and teaching English in Sapporo Japan After returning to Sydney, Australia in 1999, Smithy started an English school for Japanese in Sydney, presented a bilingual Australian/ Japanese community radio show on Bondi FM, organized a bicultural Australian/ Japanese surfing festival 2000-2002 (The Bondi Tsunami Beach Festival) and became the producer of the Bondi Tsunami movie.
